I've been thinking about the travelling plans I have coming up for later on in the year, including some overseas travel, but its in a bit of a limbo, for various reasons.
However, I will never rule out traveling within my own country, given there are still so many places I have yet to visit, especially in the South Island. I think the trick will be mastering the writing-while-on-holiday thing, because every time I go away, I take my laptop and I plan to do some writing, even lots of writing (after all, I'm not having to go into work so I've got the time) but I always end up doing not much work at all on any work-in-progress books. It's a terrible waste of time when there is always an hour or so I could do that. After all, it's not as if I'm lazying around the BBQ consuming G&Ts and getting sloshed and incapable of putting together a decent sentence .
To that end, from now until the end of the year, I am finishing off the fourth book in the Clearlake Series, and making a start on the third Frazier Bay book. I am going to try something different with that Frazier Bay book, and plot out the story before I even write the first sentence: something I have never done before. And if I do get to travel around New Zealand a bit, then I shall really, really, really try and do some actually writing.
